Human Resources Generalist
Job DescriptionVoodoo Doughnut is experiencing exciting growth and is searching for a Human Resources Generalist to join our People team. This full-time, in-office role will provide comprehensive support to the HR Manager and contribute to the execution of HR initiatives across our organization. Located in Portland, Oregon, this position offers the opportunity to grow within a dynamic and vibrant company, playing a key role in supporting our expanding team.Responsibilities:Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs. Assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, supporting job fairs for new store openings, and onboarding new hires in ADP. Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment cycle. Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs in ADP, including enrollment, changes, and troubleshooting benefit-related issues. Educate employees on available benefits and handle inquiries. Support the HR Manager in managing employee relations issues, conducting investigations, and providing recommendations for resolutions. Act as a point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR-related concerns. Track and report on HR metrics such as turnover rates, retention, and employee satisfaction. Assist in analyzing data to support strategic decision-making and improve HR processes. Assist in the administration of performance management processes, including coaching and providing day-to-day performance feedback to managers and employees. Support the implementation of career development plans and disciplinary actions when necessary. Support the HR Manager in various projects related to talent management, organizational development, and other strategic HR initiatives. Assist with HR audits and continuous improvement efforts. Assist with the development and delivery of training programs on various HR topics, including compliance, performance management, and leadership development. Encourage continuous learning and development opportunities for employees. Provide administrative support to the HR department as needed, including maintaining employee records, preparing HR documents, and coordinating HR-related communications. Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Assist in updating and enforcing company policies and procedures. Provide guidance to managers on compliance-related issues. Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction. Assist in organizing events and activities that promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in a human resources role, ideally within the retail or food service industry. Familiarity with HR policies, procedures, and employment laws. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels of the organization. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Proficiency in ADP and HRIS software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
