Here is what you will be doing:
Operation of the drum-un-heading equipment, including a Hahn & Clay device
Operation of the DCU Coke Cutting (decoking) Equipment
Operation of the DCU Overhead Bridge Crane for coke movement and load out
Operation of a crusher, conveyor, and railcar loading system
Operation of a large overhead bridge crane
Loading, unloading, and indexing of railcars
Loading coke into barges by operating barge haul system, loading chute, and associated conveyors
Operation of a locomotive and coordinate/perform rail switching activities
Complete and maintain required daily inspection/PM paperwork
Complete minor Preventive Maintenance services on customer and company owned equipment
Assist Maintenance personnel, as needed
Be physically able to handle large tools, safely climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend ladders, and should not have a fear of heights
Perform general cleanup of entire DCU and Load-out Shed including, but not limited to,
Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card
Requirements of a successful Equipment Operator:
Must understand and abide by all safety rules in place by both Savage and the customer
Maintain good relations and open communication with coworkers and management via radio and other proper means
Refinery or Industrial Plant Operations: experience with high safety standards and regulations associated with hazardous industrial plant environments
High School Diploma / GED
Here are some of the physical requirements for this role:
Must be able to walk long distances
Must be able to climb ladders/steps and work at elevated heights
Must be able to stand, stoop and crawl
Must be able to lift 50lbs frequently
