Our Character Performers and their attendants will greet our guests, pose for photographs, and help make memorable moments for our guests.Step into the role of animated characters, donning various body/fur-suit costumes. You will receive more information during the interview process.We Are Currently Looking For A:Lake Compounce - Seasonal Character Performer/Attendant - Daniel TigerRoles & Responsibilities:Audition Dates:May 14th 2026 4:00pm-7:00pmMust interview to be eligible for audition!Costume Characters and AttendantsSeeking seasonal hourly hosts to perform as various costume characters for our different seasons. Their main job would consist of bringing our loveable characters to life and learning how to perform as a character attendant to keep our characters safe. These performers will also be trained on how to run AV for our children’s shows and may also be cast as a Show Host if desired.Character Parameters:Daniel Tiger – A creative, sweet, and curious 4-year old. Only appears during special events. Must be 5’6-5’8 with a medium build. MUST BE GOOD WITH CHILDREN AND FAMILIES. What To Bring:Updated performance resumeComfortable clothes and appropriate shoes for movement activitiesWater**Uniforms and costumes will be provided**Roles & Responsibilities: Character Performer (in costume):Entertain Park guests by creating fun and immersive character performances Meet and greet with all guests in a fun, memorable manner Be prepared and in costume on time for all scheduled character meet & greetsMaintain the illusion of being the character you are representing through physical movement and interactions with guestsFollow all protocols of the park’s character training.Execute performances as scripted by the parkCommunicate any safety concerns related to the costume and/or the environment you are performing, in a timely mannerBe respectful of the costume – return to storage properly, maintain appearance, spot clean as needed in accordance with trainingReport costume maintenance needs in a timely mannerAssist in costume maintenance and repairBe responsible for personal hygiene and under layers to maintain a shared costumeAll other duties assigned by leadership Character Attendant (out Of Costume): Escort and assist costumed characters around the park or off property special functions/eventsProactive engagement with guests to encourage participation in planned event and activitiesFacilitate a variety of activities for diverse age groupsAbility to adapt an activity for all abilities levelsProject a consistently positive and friendlyLead predesigned activities for guestsProactively assist in the upkeep and maintenance of a safe, clean, and organized work environmentProactive engagement with guests to encourage participation in planned events and/or activities on-siteMaintain and keep organization of stock for activity materialsUnderstand, convey and comply with safety rules and regulations related to equipment, art supplies and chemicalsEnforce Park property policies and proceduresProject a consistently positive and friendly attitude for our guestsAll other duties assigned by leadership Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.Requirements: Must be at least 16 years of age to comply with Lake Compounce Child Labor LawsMust successfully pass an audition and/or character training for this roleAbility to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Ability to work 20+ hours per week, when neededMust have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift Must comply with all grooming standards, uniform and/or costume requirements Height should be between 5’5” and 5’10” Ability to immerse in role and remain in character throughout the performance Must possess strong cardio endurance, physical story-telling abilities, and performance energy Must be playful, outgoing, friendly, and convey a positive, guest-centric attitudeMust possess effective verbal and non-verbal acting and communication skills Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a fast-paced team Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday Ability to wear assigned costume for extended periods of time Ability to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders Ability to perform in costumes that may have limited sight lines Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 40 pounds or more Working Conditions: Frequent exposure to outdoor and indoor areas of the park Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures (both in and out of costume), including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions Subject to frequent interruptions, constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, and heavily populated environments Team Member Benefits:Working at Lake Compounce is about making people happy!
