With intentionally small homes and a low staff-to-resident ratio, Vega fosters close relationships, personalized care, and vibrant, happy communities that feel like family.Role Description The Volunteer – Assisted Living Activities Extraordinaire is a part-time (when you can!), on-site role. We have a few different locations in which you can volunteer - Sandy, Draper, West Jordan, and Riverton.In this role, you will help lead and participate in daily activities such as games, crafts, music, gentle exercise, and/or social events that promote engagement and joy for residents. You will assist residents in getting to and from activities, encourage participation based on individual interests and abilities, and offer friendly companionship through conversation and one-on-one visits.Additional responsibilities may include helping set up and tidy activity spaces, supporting special events and outings, and collaborating with staff to tailor activities to residents’ needs. This role works closely with the care team to create a warm, inclusive environment where every resident feels valued and connected.QualificationsStrong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills to engage respectfully and warmly with older adults, families, and team members.Interest or experience in recreation, arts and crafts, music, games, or group activities, with the ability to adapt activities to different abilities.Reliable, punctual, and organized, with the ability to follow schedules, take direction, and work collaboratively with staff.Patience, empathy, and a calm demeanor, especially when supporting residents with memory challenges or varying mobility levels.Ability to safely assist residents with light physical tasks related to activities (such as walking to events or setting up spaces), as appropriate.Comfort working in an assisted living environment and a genuine interest in supporting older adults’ well-being.Willingness to complete any required orientation, training, and background checks in accordance with BeeHive Homes policies.
