Associate Technical Designer (New York)

Our client, a contemporary women's apparel brand, is seeking a Technical Design Associate to join their growing team in NYC! This role will manage the private label business for women's categories within a small, collaborative team.ResponsibilitiesOwn the technical design process from concept through production for Private Label stylesMeasure all samples and maintain accurate spec sheetsEvaluate garment construction, balance, and fit to ensure consistency with design intent. Provide clients with suggested next steps for fit and constructionDevelop initial specs and build comprehensive tech packs for new stylesPartner directly with overseas factories to communicate corrections, review samples, and resolve technical issuesTrack sample development and ensure all timelines are metReview quality submits to ensure alignment with customer standardsSupport product development workflows as needed, including line sheets and sample coordinationTrack and ship development packagesOrganize and maintain sample and submit archivesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, or Technical Design1–3 years of experience in fashion design, product development, or technical designStrong proficiency in measuring samples and a solid understanding of garment constructionProficient in Microsoft Excel, Adobe Illustrator, and PhotoshopAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independentlyExcellent organizational, communication, and time management skillsFlexible, hands-on mindset with a willingness to learn and take on varied responsibilitiesSalary: $60k-70kFull time in office, NYCPlease submit your resume for consideration.You can use WorkGrades to collect and manage your references for free and share them with us or anyone else you choose by visiting workgrades.com/home/candidate.
