Senior Network & Security Engineer (CCIE Required)

We connect top-tier engineering talent with critical public and private sector initiatives. *Position Overview* We are seeking a highly autonomous *Senior Network & Security Engineer* to support a critical state government contract in Honolulu, HI. This role demands a heavy hitter with an active or Emeritus *CCIE*, strong cloud fluency (*AWS*), and deep hands-on expertise in *Palo Alto* and *Arista* environments. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor, working directly with State personnel to design, secure, integrate, and maintain complex enterprise network architectures. * *Location:* Honolulu, HI (Onsite at ETS main office & Remote as required) * *Schedule:* Typically 40 hours/week. Standard business hours are Monday – Friday, 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM HST (with flexibility for after-hours maintenance). *Key Responsibilities* * *Engineering & Support:* Provide expert onsite configuration, installation, tuning, and troubleshooting for network firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, routers, switches, and core infrastructure. * *Technical Consultation:* Deliver high-level guidance, security design architectural reviews, implementation strategies, and technical research to State IT personnel. * *Vendor Integration:* Seamlessly integrate existing infrastructure with diverse multi-vendor technologies (Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto, AWS). * *Autonomous Execution:* Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating flexibility to handle evolving project duties as assigned. *Required Qualifications & Certifications* *Note:* Candidates must hold currently active certifications matching the level of support provided. * *Cisco:* Active *CCIE* or *CCIE Emeritus* is *strictly required*. (Enterprise Infrastructure or RS are highly preferred). * *Hardware/Vendor Expertise:* Documented hands-on experience configuring and managing *Arista* switches and *Palo Alto Networks* firewalls. * *Cloud Infrastructure:* Proven experience with *AWS* networking (VPCs, Direct Connect, Transit Gateways, Route 53, CloudWatch). * *Autonomy:* Proven track record of working independently on complex, enterprise-level deployments. *Desirable (Nice-to-Have) Certifications* * Cyber Ops * Data Center * Service Provider *Logistics, Travel, & Operational Requirements* * *Work Location & Schedule:* Must be available for up to 40 hours a week in downtown Honolulu or remotely. * *After-Hours Flexibility:* Must be willing to work occasional nights and weekends for disruptive maintenance windows. _Per contract terms, there is no overtime multiplier; however, work schedules will be adjusted/offset to accommodate after-hours work._ * *Oahu Travel & Tools:* Must be able to travel by car within Oahu. * *Neighbor Island Travel:* Must be willing to travel to neighbor islands when required. * *Interview & Selection:* Final placement is contingent upon a successful interview and technical/interpersonal clearance by customer. *Benefits & Compensation* * *Salary/Hourly Rate:* Commensurate with experience. * *Health, Dental, Vision, 401(k)* * *Vacation, Holidays* *To Apply* If you are a high-level CCIE looking to make a meaningful impact, please submit your updated resume alongside your *Cisco Certification ID* for verification.
