We welcome your application.MAIN FUNCTION:The RN is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated timeframe and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members. The RN is expected to perform their duties according to established standards of care and the core values established by the Division of Nursing. Reports to assigned Unit Manager.We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Emergency Department RN to join our fast paced ED team. The ED RN provides high quality, patient centered care to individuals experiencing acute illness, injury, mental health crises, or trauma while working in a collaborative team environment.ResponsibilitiesPerform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuityProvide emergency nursing care including medication administration, IV therapy, cardiac monitoringAccurately document patient care in the electronic health recordEducate patient and families on treatment plans and discharge instructionsMaintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirementsCollaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staffWork with other interdisciplinary teamsQUALIFICATIONS:Current NYS nursing licensure, limited permit or eligible. BLS RequiredACLS or acute care experience preferredStrong clinical thinking and communication skillsPHYSICAL DEMANDS: Appreciable physical effort required; lifting, pulling, pushing, and moving patients of various size, capabilities and abilities.
