Job Description Assistant MachinistJob Summary: The Assistant Machinist supports machinists and production staff in the operation of aluminum CNC machines and other shop equipment. This role involves assisting with setup, material handling, tool usage, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.Key Responsibilities:Assist machinists in operating and maintaining aluminum CNC machinesLoad and unload materials, parts, and tools as neededOperate pneumatic bandsaws, rivet guns, and other shop equipment under supervisionUse hand tools and power tools to support fabrication and assembly processesMeasure and inspect parts to ensure they meet specificationsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaFollow all safety procedures and company guidelinesPerform routine maintenance tasks and report equipment issuesSupport general shop operations and other duties as assignedQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent preferredBasic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machining processesExperience with hand tools and power tools is a plusAbility to read basic measurements (tape measure, calipers preferred)Basic aluminum welding experience is a plusForklift certification/license is a plusStrong attention to detail and ability to follow instructionsAbility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 60 lbsStanding, bending, and moving for extended periodsComfortable working around machinery and in a shop environmentWork Environment:Manufacturing/shop setting with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and metal materialsRequired use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protectionParadigm provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
