This role fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills through active collaboration with colleagues and ongoing professional development.Minimum Qualifications:Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with English (BA) endorsement for grades 6-12Michigan Reading Specialist certification, Reading endorsement, or demonstrated coursework/training in literacy intervention preferred.Additional certification in any of the following areas- Social Studies (RX or CX); Science (DX) or Mathematics (EX), preferredAbility to interact positively with, and motivate, studentsAbility to use data to plan and adjust instructionExcellent classroom management skillsAbility to work with department colleagues to improve student outcomesProficiency in Google Suite applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.) and online sourcing tools with functional knowledge of internet use for search platformsWillingness to accept responsibility for student learning and progressAbility to withstand the strain of teachingSuch alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptableThis position is classified as ExemptEmployment is contingent upon disclosure in accordance with PA-189.Ability to withstand the strains and successfully manage the responsibilities of the position.Must demonstrate reliability and punctuality, with a strong record of consistent attendance.
