ONLY ACCEPTING LOCAL CANDIDATES Job DescriptionAct as an Oracle, SQL server and PostgreSQL DBASupport and implement corporate database activities / solutionsManage databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systemsConfigure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and securityIndependently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing problem resolution end-to-endEffectively work both independently with minimal supervision, as well as working within a team environmentDesign and implement processes to manage database configuration, for the databases themselves, and for the environments upon which they run.Design and document processes and procedures for use by other team members to consistently manage our database environments.Contribute to the implementation of automation technologies and processes to advance the team’s ability to effectively manage our Oracle database infrastructure on Oracle Cloud.Display mature judgment and troubleshooting skills to research issues, provide solutions, and communicate them concisely. Works independently managing ones’ own workload.Experience implementing technologies with enterprise-wide impactPerform routine, day-to-day database administrator duties in data replication, SQL tuning, application tuning, creation of database objects, and data modeling.Experience as a technology leader that will guide in technology updates and trendsRequired availability for on-call rotation and off shift work.Expert-level experience with Oracle database administration in an enterprise environment, including:Oracle Database software installation, patching and upgradesOracle Database creation, deployment, and management on Oracle RAC.Experienced in administration of databases like creating and managing users, tablespaces, indexes, roles, space management, resizing, partitioning and shrinking tablespaces. Database security by restricting users by granting related privileges, roles.Database performance tuning and troubleshootingReal-world experience with Oracle RAC, Oracle ASM, Oracle Data GuardDatabase platform migrations using RMANRMAN-based recovery, cloning, migration, duplication, and backupsOracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control administrationExpert-level knowledge of Linux/Unix from a power-user and scripting perspectiveMust have in-depth experience working in ORACLE Real Application Cluster (RAC/ASM), RDBMS 12c/18c/19c/23ai, DATAGUARD, RMAN.Oracle Public Cloud experience would be highly beneficial.Installed, Configured, and Maintained SQL server 2000, 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022 in development, test and production environment.Configured and Maintained fail-over clustering using SQL serverUpgraded / Migrated SQL server instances / databases from older version to newer versionsSQL / TSQL performance tuning experienceScheduled many jobs to automate different SQL server databases related activities including backup, monitoring database health, diskspace, backup verification.Monitor server activity, Error log, space usage, and solving problem as needed.QualificationsBachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering fields or equivalent experience4 to 6 years of Oracle and SQL server database administration experience.Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.Ability and willingness to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team.Strong analytical skills and the ability to address complex tasks, consistently deliver to project scheduled completion.Impeccable attention to detailMust be a US Citizen to work on ITAR controlled data MUST BE LOCAL TO THE BAY AREA, RELOCATION WON'T BE OFFEREDAdditional InformationThe expected annual pay range for this position is $117,000K - $130,000K. This position is also eligible for bonus opportunities. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
