Committed to meaningful and measurable outcomes, BFC ensures individuals in the community have access to resources and opportunities to grow and thrive.Bergen Family Center is seeking a mental health professional with a background working with children and families to conduct assessments to resolve custody disputes. The evaluator will carry out interviews with parents and children, speak to individuals connected to the case and review pertinent documents. The BFC evaluator will compose reports on findings to ensure custody decisions are rooted in evidence and align with legal and ethical standards. Prior experience conducting evaluations is not needed but a background in family systems is highly preferred.BenefitsExtensive training provided in a supportive environment.Opportunity to develop new skill set in a field quickly growing in demand.Mentoring provided by a family therapist with 30+ years in the field.ResponsibilitiesInterviewing parents, guardians, children and collateral contacts.Reviewing documentation, including medical, behavioral health, and school records related to the child's well-being.Preparing reports summarizing findings and recommendations for custody evaluations.QualificationsLCSW, LPC, LMFT, PsyD. and Ph.D.Strong understanding of family dynamics and child development.Excellent written, verbal and communication skills.Ability to remain objective and unbiased in evaluations.Strong organizational and time management skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of child development and family systems theory.Ability to make fair, unbiased recommendations.Salary$1,500 to $1,800 per completed caseHoursFlexible hours. Interviews must be conducted onsite but writing /collateral interviewing can be conducted offsite
