Job DescriptionThe Fiber Cable Technician role at Techcom LLC is an on-site position supporting projects in Monroe, Petoskey/Northern Michigan, Howell/Fowlerville, and Byron Center/Grand Haven, MI.This is not an entry-level position. Ideal candidates are self-sufficient, reliable, and able to begin work immediately with minimal supervision.QualificationsProven experience as a Cable Technician (required)Fiber experience strongly preferredAbility to work independently without full trainingMust have reliable transportation (preferred: own vehicle)Must have own tools and equipment (ladder, meter, basic install tools preferred)Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsReliable, punctual, and ready to start immediatelyMust be authorized to work as a 1099 independent contractorResponsibilitiesPerform cable installations, service calls, trouble calls, and reconnectsDiagnose and resolve signal and service issuesInstall, replace, and configure equipment as neededCommunicate professionally with customers and dispatch teamsAccurately submit job notes, photos, and closeout documentationFollow all safety protocols and quality standards
