Machine Learning Engineer (Applied AI / Predictive Modeling / NLP)Location: New York-based client Type: Full-time Contract (40 hrs/week) Rate: $70–90/hr Engagement: 8-month initial contract with strong extension potential Engagement Type: W2 or Personal LLC only Restrictions: No C2C / third-party vendorsOverviewWe’re seeking a hands-on Machine Learning Engineer with a strong data science background to help design and deliver practical AI solutions across predictive analytics and NLP-driven applications.This role is suited to someone who has experience building production-ready machine learning systems and can work directly with stakeholders to identify meaningful AI use cases.ResponsibilitiesBuild, train, deploy, and maintain production-grade machine learning modelsDevelop predictive modeling and forecasting solutions across business use cases such as churn, revenue forecasting, demand planning, and operational optimizationDesign and implement NLP / LLM-powered applications including chatbots, semantic search, document intelligence, and conversational AI workflowsBuild end-to-end ML pipelines covering feature engineering, training, deployment, inference, and monitoringDevelop RAG workflows using embeddings and vector searchPartner with business and technical stakeholders to identify practical AI use cases and solution opportunitiesWork closely with engineering, product, and data teams to productionize AI initiativesRequired Experience4+ years in Machine Learning / Applied AI / Data ScienceStrong Python and SQL skillsProven experience deploying ML models into productionCommercial predictive modeling / forecasting experienceHands-on NLP / chatbot / LLM experienceExperience with ML frameworks such as Scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlowCloud experience (AWS / Azure / GCP)Nice to HaveLangChain / LlamaIndexPinecone / Weaviate / FAISSKafka / Spark / real-time data processingCustomer support AI / contact center AIRecommendation / personalization systems
