Senior Electrical Engineer (Preconstruction)

What We’re BuildingCandid is building the AI layer for EPCs.We use AI to reduce the manual effort behind preconstruction engineering by automating document understanding, consistency checks, and repetitive workflow steps across major disciplines. Our goal is to make preconstruction 10x faster without sacrificing engineering quality.We recently raised $6.5M from top AI and industrial investors (including Schneider Electric and Meta’s Chief AI Scientist). Our team includes engineers from MIT, Carnegie Mellon, major LNG and power projects, and leading EPCs.What You Will DoYou will help us translate real electrical workflows into product requirements and validation checks:Define how electrical scope is developed and validated during FEEDReview and validate electrical inputs and equipment requirements across early phase packagesCreate repeatable checks that catch inconsistencies across load assumptions, equipment needs, and package interfacesMap where electrical rework happens and what typically causes itClarify interfaces with Mechanical packages, Instrumentation, and overall project constraintsIdentify which steps are repetitive vs which require real engineering judgementYour experience will help define the checks, workflows, and product requirements that let software take on the repetitive parts, with engineers in control.What we are looking for7+ years at an EPC, PMC, or owner operatorStrong understanding of FEED and early detailed design electrical workflowsExperience with typical downstream electrical deliverables (load lists, equipment requirements, distribution concepts)Knowledge of NFPA, IEC, IEEE, or similar standardsAbility to spot inconsistencies across equipment requirements and vendor packagesClear understanding of cross discipline dependenciesNice to HaveExperience with brownfield tie ins and constrained power systemsFamiliarity with hazardous area driven requirements in downstream facilitiesInterest in AI or automationPerksMeaningful base + equityUnlimited PTO: We believe great work requires recharging.
