Completing this search is contingent upon available funding.Position Purpose: Provides supervisory and technical work in the operation, maintenance, and repair of boilers and related equipment. The position is responsible for the safe, efficient and continuous operation and overall maintenance of boilers and related equipment. This position is considered an essential personnel position.Description of Duties: Using a desktop personal computer, types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Supervises subordinate staff in the operation, maintenance, and repair of boilers, pumps, heaters, and other plant equipment. Schedules work and assign workers to shifts for 24/7 operations. Determines work priorities. Monitors the testing of boiler water to determine the proper water chemistry. Develops plant procedures to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. Prepares requisitions for chemicals and other materials and equipment required for plant operations. Anticipate steam load and make necessary adjustments for (weather). Maintain records of all equipment and required equipment testing results. Maintain daily boiler logs, including all required regulatory data. Employees in this job may participate in the performance of subordinates' work consistent with operational or organizational requirements. Performs related work as required.Minimum Requirements Profile: Two years of experience as a Utility Plant Operator 2; or Four years of experience performing semi-skilled work in the operation, maintenance, and repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional boiler plant systems and related equipment; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Valid driver's license is required.
