Project Manager (Wausau)

About the RolePlans, directs, and coordinates activities of mechanical contracting projects to ensure that goals and objectives of projects are accomplished within the designated time frame and project budgets.ResponsibilitiesReview project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources in various phases of project completionEstablish work plans and staffing for individual phases of each project, and arrange for assignments of project personnelResponsible for the scheduling and/or purchase of major equipmentPrepare and review status reports by project personnel for budget analysis and modify schedule or plan as required; prepare project reports for management, clients or others as neededCoordinate subcontractors, shop fabrication, and manpower requirementsResponsible for project documentation, contract administration, and preparation and coordination of change ordersTakes hand in Cash Flow Management through coordination of billings as necessary in conjunction with accounting, following up with customers on past due accounts, and gross profit maintenanceConfer with project staff to outline work plan & assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authorityDirect and coordinate activities of project to ensure project progress is on schedule and within budgetConsult with project personnel, in-house engineers, and estimators to provide technical advice to resolve problemsBack up to the field and shop personnel answering all mechanical and operational questionsMaintain project budgetHandle and prepare all documentation for project including O & M manuals, delivery schedules, labor tracking, project close out documentation etc.Answer to multiple customers assignedDevelop and process estimates for key accountsDeliver proposals to key customers assignedMaintain customer relationshipsOverall responsibility for:Scheduling and/or purchase of tools and equipmentSetting up and/or attending job meetingsExpediting equipment and monitor job progressCoordinating manpower requirementsCoordinating shop fabrication, if necessaryContract administrationProject documentationPreparation and coordination of change ordersEquipment start-upProject completionPunch listManualsMiscellaneousWarranty back charges to manufacturer(s)Follow all ISO procedures as stated in the Standard Operating Procedures.Support and maintain a safe and lean work environment.Other duties as assigned by supervisor.Required SkillsStrong communication skills, verbal & written (ability to write letters, proposals, etc.)Excellent customer relations skills.Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word & ExcelAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to understand, analyze and troubleshoot mechanical systemsVery strong pre-planning and organizational skillsPhysical ability to access job sites, including some climbingFamiliar with and capable of reading & interpreting construction drawings and specifications.Familiar with construction project management documents such as RFIs, and change orders as well as how they are used.General knowledge of the construction industry.Estimating and direct field experience is desirable but not requiredAbility to understand, analyze and troubleshoot collection systems and have experience with current fabrication techniques.Ability to travel to the Kaukauna, WI office and customer sites on an as-needed basis.Preferred SkillsWill provide direction to the field personnel assigned to projects being handled by this person in addition to coaching & training.
