StevenDouglas has partnered with a privately held single-family office that is seeking a Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations within a collaborative, team-oriented environment. The portfolio includes East Texas ranch operations, real estate holdings, family limited partnerships, direct investments, and an aviation company.This position combines financial oversight with day-to-day accounting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing month-end close, preparing financial statements, handling transactional accounting, and supporting cash management across multiple entities. The position oversees one bookkeeper and works closely with ranch staff, external advisors, and ownership.Key responsibilities include:Managing monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entitiesPreparing financial statements, reconciliations, journal entries, and intercompany transactionsOverseeing day-to-day accounting activities including AP, AR, payroll, and bank reconciliationsSupporting accounting for real estate, investment activity, and aviation operationsCoordinating with external CPA firms, tax advisors, and legal counselMaintaining organized financial records and strengthening internal controlsSupervising and mentoring one bookkeeperQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting experience Experience within tax accounting
