The EVT Installer Apprentice will work under the guidance of experienced emergency vehicle installation technicians to learn diagnostic, repair, and the installation procedures of electronic motor vehicle equipment on federal and state vehicles in our municipal building. This entry-level role is designed to prepare apprentices for a full technician position as an EV installer through hands-on training and mentorship. If you are eager to start your career in the automotive field and grow with a successful dealership, apply today!Benefits: Hands-on training and mentorship from experienced EV technicians Opportunities for career growth and advancement to a full installation technician role Compensation based on experience; $18 to $25/hour Potential for future career advancement within Sheehy Auto StoresResponsibilities: Assist EV technicians with installing emergency equipment into law enforcement vehicles Learn to remove and re-install OEM vehicle interior trim (including light fabrication) Follow 12V electronic equipment installation guidelines and procedures Enthusiasm and willingness to learn and work in a team setting Apply proper use of PPE and adhere to safety standards in the shop environment and understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations Maintain a clean and organized workspace Participate in training programs to advance technical skills Work with a mentor to discuss equipment installation and plan work procedures in cooperation with the mentor and/or shop foreman Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on vehicle care and operation Ability to work in a temperature sensitive environmentRequirements: High school diploma or GED One-three months of related experience and training Knowledge of car audio and electronic equipment a plus Must be authorized to work in the USA Able to pass pre-employment background checks, MVR, and drug screen Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving recordOur company maintains a strong policy of equal employment opportunities for all associates.
