Engineered Welding, Inc. values practical problem-solving, collaboration, and continuous improvement in shop practices and production methods.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mig and Tig Welder role based in Anamosa, IA. The Mig and Tig Welder will interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to set up and perform Mig and Tig welding on a range of metals and thicknesses. Daily responsibilities include preparing materials, fitting and aligning parts, performing welds to specification, inspecting weld quality, and making necessary adjustments to equipment. The role also involves grinding, cutting, and finishing welded assemblies, maintaining welding machines and tools, and following all safety procedures and quality standards. The welder will collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules, resolve fabrication issues, and support continuous improvement efforts on the shop floor.Qualifications Proficiency in Mig and Tig welding on various metals and thicknesses, with the ability to produce clean, structurally sound welds.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings, and to follow written and verbal instructions.Experience with material preparation, fitting, cutting, and finishing, including the safe use of grinders, saws, and other shop tools.Knowledge of shop and welding safety practices, including safe equipment operation, PPE use, and basic maintenance of welding machines.Strong attention to detail, quality-focused mindset, and commitment to meeting production deadlines with minimal rework.Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials as required, and work in a manufacturing environment.Prior experience as a Mig/Tig welder or completion of a welding trade program, apprenticeship, or equivalent training.Welding certifications (e.g., AWS or equivalent) are preferred but not required; willingness to pursue certification is a plus.Reliable attendance, effective communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
