General SummaryTransport company goods and raw materials on truck or trailer with a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) exceeding 26,000 lbs.Essential Job FunctionsTransport company goods and raw materials over land to and from distribution center, branches and suppliers all throughout Florida.Ensure goods are properly secured inside of truck to prevent breakage or damage of material.Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and coordinate preventive maintenance.Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.Obtain signatures or warehouse scans to confirm and complete deliveries with clients.Manually or systematically document and log work/rest periods as well as mileage spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.Safely maneuver trucks into loading or unloading position.Collect and verify delivery instructions before moving any load.Report defects, accidents or violations.RequirementsValid Drivers License2+ years proven experience with Box Truck Driving required.OSHA Forklift certified.Able to operate electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc)Ability to drive long hours and travel regularlyExtensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.No recent moving or driving violations.Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)Other requirements.Alert, focused, and detail-orientedAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. at a timeAny offer of employment is contingent upon pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.This job description is intended to provide an overview of the work to be performed and the qualifications for success and cannot be construed as an employment contract.
