Controller

Seeking a highly skilled Controller to oversee the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. This role will manage financial processes across the organization, ensuring accurate reporting and supporting leadership with financial insights to drive strategic decision-making. The Controller will play a key role in supporting a growing business engaged in product development, licensing, distribution, and global sourcing within the fragrance and beauty industry. The position requires strong expertise in inventory accounting, product distribution finance, and operational financial analysis. Responsibilities: • Lead all core accounting functions (GL, AP/AR, payroll, inventory). • Produce accurate GAAP financial statements and maintain strong controls. • Manage debt reporting, covenant compliance, and lender requirements. • Oversee inventory valuation, costing, COGS, and margin analysis. • Support distribution finance, including chargebacks, deductions, and revenue recognition. • Account for tariffs, import duties, and landed costs. • Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling. • Maintain compliance with GAAP, tax rules, and audit requirements. • Develop and mentor the accounting team; implement scalable systems and process improvements. Qualifications:• Bachelor's in accounting/finance; CPA strongly preferred. • 8–10+ years of accounting experience, including leadership roles. • Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments. • Strong inventory, cost accounting, and retail deductions experience. • Deep GAAP and internal-controls knowledge. • Proficient with ERP/accounting tools (QuickBooks, Smartsheet). • Public accounting and systems-implementation experience preferred.
