Construction Project Engineer

OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Construction Project Engineer to support utility infrastructure projects within a heavy industrial / commercial construction environment. This individual will play a key role in project planning, execution, and closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in compliance with all regulatory standards.Key ResponsibilitiesParticipate in project teams to develop: Project scope, cost estimates, and schedulesDetailed construction plans and outage requirementsConduct site visits and field assessments to validate scopeSupport development of project schedules, including critical path analysisIdentify required permits and develop detailed project estimatesCoordinate with Utility Company major accounts group on outages impacting customersDevelop and manage construction bid packages: Lead pre-bid meetingsReview contractor proposals and support vendor selectionParticipate in constructability reviews across disciplines: Site, foundation, electrical, relay, and transmission linePerform quality assurance checks throughout constructionMonitor project progress against in-service datesEnsure adherence to utility procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standardsManage contract closeout and ensure completion of as-built documentationRequired Qualifications10+ years of experience in heavy industrial or commercial constructionBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related fieldStrong knowledge of: Construction practices, techniques, and quality standards Applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirementsOSHA and environmental regulationsExperience with construction contracts and labor agreementsAbility to coordinate with contractors, vendors, engineers, and cross-functional teamsWorking knowledge of rigging and lifting methodsKey Skills- Self-starter with a proactive mindsetStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsDetail-oriented with strong planning and organizational capabilitiesAbility to manage multiple project priorities in a fast-paced environment
