With ~90 employees across three offices, they offer the stability of a well-established firm and the agility of a closely held team.Who We're Looking For:This is a great opportunity for someone currently in a Big 4 or mid-tier public accounting firm who wants more visibility, a better work-life balance post-busy season, and room to grow in a specialized financial services firm.Responsibilities:Staff Auditor:Assist in audits of financial institutions and related entitiesPerform substantive audit testing and document findingsCollaborate with seniors and managers to execute audit plansEngage with clients as needed, particularly during busy seasonQualifications:Required for Both Roles:At least 3 busy seasons of public accounting audit experienceStrong understanding of audit methodologyExcellent communication and organizational skillsWillingness to work on-site in Walnut Creek 3–4 days/weekAmbition to pursue a CPA license (if not already licensed)Preferred (not required):Experience with financial services clients (mortgage banking, private debt funds, etc.)ICFR (Internal Controls over Financial Reporting) experience — this is a big plusCPA license or parts passed for senior-levelAdditional Info:Work Schedule: Heavy hours during Q1 (Jan–April), lighter in summerTravel: Minimal — 3–5 times/year, mostly local; Q1 concentratedCulture: Collaborative, family-first, client-focused.
