Continuous Improvement Engineer

Our client needs a Continuous Improvement Engineer to add to their growing team. In this role you will utilize continuous improvement and lean manufacturing to solve problems and address long-term process improvement and capital equipment projects. You will report to the Plant Manager.Company – Manufactures food service equipment!· Over 60 years of continuous growth· This $37M division is part of an $800M (1,000+ staff) company serving the food service industry· 125 employees in this division and still growing· Recent $3.5 million investment from parent company in the production operationBenefits and Features:· Health, dental and vision insurance· Life and disability insurance· PTO and Paid Holidays· 401k with 4% company match· Gym membership· Tuition reimbursement· Bonus programs· Companywide celebrationsWhat you will be doing:· Lead cross-functional teams doing continuous improvement projects and Kaizen events, employing methodologies such as Lean and the 8 Wastes concepts to drive ongoing process enhancements. These teams may focus on topics ranging from process redesign, to automation, to technical enhancements.· Create detailed process through Value Stream Maps (VSMs), documenting current and future state workflows.· Gather and analyze data, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to quantify process inefficiencies and track improvements over time.· Evaluate current organizational processes, workflows, and systems to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.· Facilitate change management efforts by communicating proposed improvements, obtaining buy-in from stakeholders, and ensuring successful implementation.· Develop training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and documentation to ensure that optimized processes are effectively adopted and maintained by teams.What they are looking for:· 3+ years of continuous improvement experience, preferably in a metal fabrication or assembly operation· Ability to effectively lead a team in Kaizen events and work collaboratively will all levels of staff. Must understand lean tools such as 5 Whys, 8 Wastes concepts, Fishbone Diagrams, Value Stream Mapping and Kanban· A proven leader and communicator who can get the entire operation working in unison to continuously improve· You must be self-directed and outgoing in this role· Knowledge of statistical analysis· The greater your relevant academic accomplishments the better, but it is your knowledge, skills and experience to get the job done that is paramount.
