HCLTech is looking for a highly talented and self-motivated PCB Layout Design Engineer to join it in advancing the technological world through innovation and creativity.Job Title: PCB Layout Design EngineerJob ID: 135503Position Type: Full TimeLocation: Menlo Park, CAKey ResponsibilitiesPCB Design & LayoutOwn end-to-end PCB layout execution for complex, high-density server and data center hardware designs.Perform high-speed digital PCB layout for interfaces such as:HBMDDR4/DDR5/LPDDR5PCIe Gen5/Gen6USB 3.2 and higher-speed interfacesEnsure adherence to controlled impedance requirements, signal integrity guidelines, length matching, via optimization, and crosstalk mitigation techniques.Develop and enforce PCB design rules for high-speed digital, analog, mixed-signal, and power domains.Engineering CollaborationPartner with Electrical Engineers during schematic reviews to provide layout-driven recommendations on:Component placementSignal routing methodologiesPower Distribution Network (PDN) optimizationStack-up planningCollaborate with Mechanical Engineers to resolve board-level constraints involving:Board outline definitionConnector placementThermal considerationsEnclosure integrationLayer stack-up architectureManufacturing & QualityLead Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Testability (DFT) reviews with PCB fabricators and contract manufacturers.Ensure designs meet manufacturability, yield, reliability, and quality objectives.Drive implementation of HDI design methodologies, including blind, buried, and microvia technologies.Standards & DocumentationMaintain and improve PCB design processes, corporate standards, stack-up libraries, and footprint libraries.Support prototype and production builds through:Layout documentationNet tracing analysisECO implementationDesign revision managementProvide layout support during bring-up, validation, and production-release activities.Skill Requirements10-14 years of PCB CAD design and layout experience in high-performance hardware development.Mandatory hands-on experience with Cadence Allegro PCB Designer v23.1 or later.Advanced proficiency in PCB layout and routing using Cadence Allegro.Strong knowledge of CAD tools for both 2D and 3D design environments.Extensive experience with HDI PCB technologies, including:Blind viasBuried viasMicroviasSequential lamination processesExperience designing boards based on:Intel platformsHigh-complexity SoCsMicroprocessorsFPGA-based architecturesProven ability to deliver high-density, high-speed PCB layouts supporting:DDR5/LPDDR5 memory systemsPCIe Gen5/Gen6Power delivery networksMixed analog and digital circuitryStrong understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, and high-speed design practices.Deep expertise in Cadence Constraint Editor System (CES) and constraint-driven PCB design methodology.Strong working knowledge of:DFM (Design for Manufacturability)DFA (Design for Assembly)DFT (Design for Testability)Experience working directly with PCB fabrication houses and manufacturing partners.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.Pay and BenefitsPay Range Minimum: $78000/YearPay Range Maximum: $148000/YearHCLTech is an equal opportunity employer, committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees regardless of race, religion, sex, color, age, national origin, pregnancy, sexual orientation, physical disability or genetic information, military or veteran status, or any other protected classification, in accordance with federal, state, and/or local law.
