Job OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced IT Change Manager to own, govern, and mature the enterprise IT Change Management capability. This is not an organizational change or communications role, it is a hands‐on ITSM governance role with formal CAB authority. The Change Manager will be the final approval authority for IT changes, responsible for enforcing policy, improving process maturity, and holding technical teams accountable to defined standards. This role operates in a federated IT environment, where governance is centralized but delivery teams are distributed across applications, infrastructure, and operations. The position is a build‐and‐stabilize role in a low‐maturity environment. The successful candidate must be comfortable enforcing standards, managing resistance, and driving improvement without direct line authority.Key ResponsibilitiesChange Governance & CAB LeadershipOwn and govern the end‐to‐end IT Change Management process, including policy, standards, SOPs, and approval workflowsChair the weekly Change Advisory Board (CAB) and facilitate structured, disciplined change review discussionsAct as the final approval authority for changes, with escalation to senior leadership where requiredEnsure all changes include impact assessments, risk analysis, backout plans, and required approvalsIdentify and address unauthorized or non‐conforming changes, including documentation of non‐conformanceProcess Maturity & Continuous ImprovementLead the uplift of Change Management maturity from crawl walk within the yearReview existing change processes and recommend pragmatic improvements aligned to ITIL best practiceBalance governance rigor with delivery needs standards without bureaucracyDrive adoption of consistent change behaviors across all IT teamsCross‐Functional AccountabilityWork closely with application, infrastructure, operations, and security teams to ensure complianceEnforce process adherence without direct people management authorityEscalate systemic non‐compliance through governance forums and leadership reportingReporting & Executive VisibilityProduce change performance reporting for IT leadership (e.g., failed changes, emergency changes, trends)Identify root causes of change failures and lead corrective actionsRepresent Change Management in IT governance and leadership forumsTeam LeadershipHire, mentor, and lead a Change Coordinator once onboardedProvide quality assurance and coaching on change submissions and process usageRequired Experience & ProfileMust‐Have5+ years of IT Change Management experience in enterprise IT environmentsProven experience leading and owning CAB governance (not just participating/facilitating)Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and mature change processesStrong understanding of end‐to‐end IT change lifecycle, including SDLC integrationExperience enforcing standards across multiple teams without direct authorityComfortable reporting non‐conformance and escalating when requiredCalm, patient, and resilient when working in low‐maturity environmentsNice‐to‐HaveExperience in regulated or compliance‐driven environmentsExposure to enterprise ITSM platforms (tool‐agnostic; Ivanti not required)Experience integrating Change with Incident, Problem, Release, and Configuration ManagementSkillsChange ManagementITILService ManagementOrganizational Change ManagementCorporate CommunicationStakeholder ManagementCertifications (Not Required But Preferred)ITIL 4 FoundationITIL 4 Managing Professional designation or ITIL v3 Service Transition certificationCCMPExperience LevelExpert LevelJob Type & LocationContract to Hire position based out of Spring, TX.Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
