Security Systems Installer
Position Summary: A leading residential and commercial security company is seeking a Security Systems Installer to join its Installation team. This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, and servicing of security and alarm systems, ensuring high-quality, on-time project completion and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Install and service intrusion, fire alarm, CCTV, access control, and specialty security systems
Program alarm panels for both local and central station systems
Read and interpret scope of work, blueprints, installation manuals, and work orders
Coordinate with customers on system needs and support add-on opportunities
Track and document labor hours, materials, mileage, and job details
Lead and support helper installers, ensuring quality and productivity standards are met
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues; perform modifications and upgrades as needed
Maintain accurate records of all installation and service work performed
Ensure proper use and care of tools, equipment, and company vehicle
Follow all safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred)
Minimum 1+ year of experience installing security/alarm systems
Experience with intrusion, fire alarm, CCTV, and access control systems
Required certification through Department of Consumer Affairs
Fire/Life Safety training (as applicable)
Basic understanding of computer hardware and network systems
Strong ability to read technical documents and communicate effectively with customers and teams
Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of alarm systems, installation techniques, and troubleshooting
Ability to work independently and manage multiple installations
Strong communication and customer service skills
Basic math and problem-solving abilities
Ability to adapt to new tools, technologies, and software systems
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Work performed in residential homes, commercial sites, construction environments, and outdoors
Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces/attics, and lift up to 75 lbs
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and use of tools/equipment
Exposure to varying weather conditions
Ability to work extended hours and participate in an on-call rotation
Local travel required using a company vehicle
