Registered Nurse - Community Living Center (CLC)

This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT for Registered Nurse vacancies in the Community Living Center (CLC) at the Erie VA Medical Center & will remain open until 07/31/2026. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be 02/12/2026, with subsequent cut-off dates weekly. Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients and oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants, as appropriate to the setting.This announcement covers CLC Alpha and CLC Bravo/Acute positions*Major Duties Include but not limited to:Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care based on age specific components.Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of care, patient and family education, patient self management after discharge, and supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction.Considers all characteristics of the individual, including age and life stages, state of health, race and culture, values, and previous experiences.Administers medications and procedures per establishing policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.Core elements of performance include knowledge and active participation in unit/program level quality improvement processes and initiatives as well as customer service programs.Supports and actively participates in initiatives such as High Reliability Organization (HRO), Patient Centered Care, Just Culture, and I CARE.Improves Veteran/patient driven care by resolving experience issues such as coordination of care, timeliness or process issues, common themes of dissatisfaction, or environment of care concerns for the immediate practice setting.Applies patient, family, and caregiver knowledge, values, and beliefs into care delivery without judgement or discrimination.Serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, improving outcomes for the immediate practice setting.Serves as a resource for patients, caregivers, and staff to address and resolve ethical issues in the immediate practice setting.Leads the implementation of high reliability principles and I CARE values to increase consistency of care delivered and improve patient outcomes.VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total RewardsPay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awardsPaid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VAInsurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territoryWork Schedule: Rotating tours including weekends and holidays.Compressed/Flexible: Possibility of compressed will be considered.Telework: Not Available.Virtual: This is not a virtual position.Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized.EDRP Authorized: Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive.
