Senior Director of Social and Emotional Wellness
Position Overview The Senior Director of Social and Emotional Wellness (SDSEW) provides leadership and oversight for programs that deliver high-quality therapeutic services to children and their families. In collaboration with families, community partners, and internal teams, the SDSEW ensures coordinated, client-centered support. This role is responsible for overseeing the Family Support Program as well as the organizations mental health partnerships and initiatives. Additionally, the SDSEW offers staff consultation and training, maintains a small caseload to directly support children and families, and leads key elements of the organizations race equity work within the community and across the County. Classification: Exempt / Salaried Schedule: Full Time Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO) Duties & Responsibilities Oversight & Management Supervise 4-6 Family Support staff who provide our clients with programs and services that include needs assessments, case management/care plans, workshops, referrals and family activities Manage the departments outcome data and prepare data reports for program evaluation, needs assessment, grant reports, board reports and funding opportunities in collaboration with designated Family Support leadership Participate in the strategic plan process and goal setting to guide program development Develop and manage the program budget, ensure appropriate grant funds spent per designations Work collaboratively with mental health partners for parent support groups and activities Coordinate and facilitate quarterly parent forums to promote active parent involvement Professional Development Provide organization-wide training, with ongoing support to staff on the Strengthening Families Framework, Restorative Practices, Trauma Informed Care and activities that support Social Emotional Wellness. Provide crisis management support and consultation to children, families and staff Provide consultation to staff and behavior coaches, conduct classroom observations and provide behavior management strategies Care Plan / Case Management Directly manage cases as needed, and in doing so, will: o Conduct follow-up sessions with the child and family in their homes or other locations that are agreed upon by the client/family (i.e. school, office) o Develop appropriate and valid treatment plans with viable goals for the child and family o Provide high quality, compassionate and ethical outpatient mental health therapy to clients o Maintain ongoing communication with staff and record such contact in the client's chart o Maintain and complete appropriate documentation and complete data on time o Complete clinical documentation within 48 hours of service (daily completion recommended) Practice within Code of Ethics guidelines prescribed to the case management profession Maintain awareness of confidentiality regulations and laws and help others understand rights, responsibilities and exceptions Secure and maintain client information in keeping with HIPAA regulations, policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned Education & Experience Current State of Florida license as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master's Degree in Social Work, Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling (LMHC), or Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT) from an accredited college or university Minimum 2 years post-independent license is a plus Demonstrated experience of at least three years in a clinical setting with children and families Experience with supervision of multiple staff members is preferred Experience with school-based and in-home visitation services Must maintain good standing with the appropriate board and insurance entities Knowledge & Values Knowledgeable and compliant with laws & regulations, duties to persons served and duties to the profession Knowledge of the dynamics of child abuse and neglect, domestic violence and substance abuse Knowledge of psychotherapeutic and evidence-based relational therapeutic approaches Knowledge of, and ability to serve, socioeconomically and culturally diverse populations Knowledge of, and ability to engage in, school-based consultation services Strong commitment to ameliorating the social challenges faced by low-income children and families through high-quality programming and support Commitment to respectful, positive behavior toward, and interactions with, children and families, colleagues, volunteers and visitors is a must Essential Skills & Abilities Comprehensive and strong clinical foundation in human development and systemic approaches Bilingual and proficient in the English/Creole and/or English/Spanish languages and familiarity with cultural diversity is preferred Capacity to work as a team member in a family-driven wrap-around concept of care Skill in working independently while also managing a team Ability to provide necessary degrees of self-care Strong assessment skills Strong problem-solving skills Strong relationship-building techniques and effective communication skills Clarity of role and function in a professional relationship Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently Ability to perform critical thinking techniques Essential Physical Abilities Must be able to utilize a computer for extended periods of time Must be able to endure repetitive wrist, hand and finger movement while operating office equipment/typing Requires clarity of vision at close distances while operating a computer Additional Employment Information Pre-employment training may be required Pre-employment and ongoing background checks required - https://info.flclearinghouse.com Pre-employment and random drug testing & alcohol screening 90-day initial probation period This position may require evening and weekend hours Equal Opportunity Employer Statement We are an equal opportunity employer.
