Job description
IREN is a leading AI Cloud Service Provider, delivering large-scale GPU clusters for AI training and inference. IREN’s vertically integrated platform is underpinned by its expansive portfolio of grid-connected land and data centers in renewable-rich regions across the U.S. and Canada.
With 100% renewable energy, we build, own and operate our data centers and take pride in being at the forefront of sustainable solutions for the ever-evolving applications of high-performance compute. We believe that human progress is invaluable, but it should be done in the right way – responsibly, sustainably and having a positive impact on the communities we operate in.
We are hiring for a technically minded project development specialist to support due diligence and execution for new project acquisitions and joint-venture opportunities. These roles bridge the gap between commercial deal teams and delivery execution, ensuring acquired or partnered projects meet IREN’s development, design, and operational standards.
Job requirements
7–10 years’ experience in renewable-energy or infrastructure project development, or engineering advisory.
Familiarity with M&A due diligence, project feasibility analysis, and risk assessment.
Strong stakeholder-management skills across internal technical teams and external consultants.
Proficient in project planning tools and capable of managing multiple concurrent transactions.
Degree in engineering, environmental science, project management, or related discipline
Job responsibilities
Technical due diligence: Oversee technical, environmental, grid, and permitting diligence processes during M&A and project acquisition.
Coordination of external consultants — Manage engineering, environmental, legal, and commercial advisors throughout diligence phases.
Interface management — Collaborate closely with internal project, engineering, and commercial teams to assess development risk and value creation potential.
Execution support — Assist in transaction documentation, closeout, and transition to IREN’s ongoing project development and delivery teams.
Process improvement — Develop best-practice frameworks for project diligence and handover documentation.
