Financial Consultant with Security Clearance

Summary Role Desc: Seeking an accountant to support Internal Use Software (IUS) remediation efforts by assisting with the development of accounting policy, design of sustainable business processes, and implementation of valuation and control frameworks in compliance with SFFAS 10. The role will support assessment of current-state IUS accounting practices, documentation of policy and procedures, and creation of go-forward methodologies for capitalization, valuation, amortization, and related financial reporting. The resource will also help establish and strengthen key controls, including data quality controls, review controls, and governance over source data used in valuation and accounting determinations. This individual will work closely with accounting, IT, system owners, and program stakeholders to improve compliance, support audit readiness, and enable a repeatable, defensible approach to IUS accounting going forward. Required qualifications:DOD Full Secret clearanceWorking knowledge or recent experience with financial reporting and remediation of of General Property, Plant, and Equipment (GPP&E) accounting, preferably Internal Use SoftwareExperience developing or enhancing accounting policies, standard operating procedures, and process documentationExperience designing and implementing valuation controls, including data quality controls, review controls, and governance over source data used in accounting determinationsAbility to develop go-forward valuation methodologies and support consistent application across in-scope software assetsAbility to work collaboratively with accounting, IT, system owners, and program stakeholders to translate technical accounting requirements into sustainable business processesExperience supporting audit readiness, including preparation of documentation, support for walkthroughs, and response to auditor requestsStrong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex accounting matters clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholdersProficiency in Excel and experience working with large or incomplete datasets to support accounting analysis and control validation Additional desired skillsets:Knowledge of SFFAS 10 and its application to internal use software capitalization, valuation, amortization, and reporting
