Founding Forward Deployed Engineer
About the Role:
Join a small engineering team building AI-powered software for industrial distributors. You will work directly with customers to deploy the product, turn operational needs into software, and help shape new workflows for the physical supply chain.
What You'll Do:
Customize data ingestion for customer file formats, ERP systems, and business workflows.
Lead customer discovery conversations and site visits, then translate what you learn into product improvements.
Build and ship prototypes, internal tools, and production workflows that solve customer problems.
Develop AI agents and LLM-powered workflows to automate manual sales and quoting tasks.
Prepare and deliver product demonstrations, support pilots, and build technical relationships with customer teams.
Own customer deployments and help customers realize value while identifying further opportunities to improve their workflows.
What We're Looking For:
One to five years of experience in full-stack or backend engineering, with production software used by real users.
Professional experience with Python and TypeScript.
A degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
Experience presenting technical work to non-technical buyers and working directly with customers in a forward-deployed, solutions, sales engineering, or customer-facing engineering role.
Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.
Evidence of building and shipping a zero-to-one project, such as a product with real users, an open-source project, or a venture.
Experience with hardware, procurement, supply chain, ERP systems, or legacy integrations is valuable.
Compensation & Benefits:
Base salary is $150,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
