Accounting Manager

If so, please read on...The Accounting Manager will plan and direct the accounting activities of the department.Supervisory Responsibilities Manages the accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, banking, and payables. Recruits and hires accounting and financial staff and conducts performance evaluations. Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff. Oversee the system of internal controls over accounting functions to minimize risk. Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.Duties/Responsibilities Oversee the preparation of periodic financial statements. Ensures that financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards. Assists external auditors and provides required statements and information for the annual audits. Reviews budget reports and assists other departments to prepare annual budgets. Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements. Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation. Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures. Identifies and recommends updates to accounting processes and procedures. Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.Required Skills/Abilities Excellent management and supervisory skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Work effectively as an individual and in a team environment. Proficient use of personal computers, possess practical knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Able to travel as needed.Education And Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required. Three years or more of related experience required. CPA and/or CMA designation preferred.Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
