Better Places.The Role Stratus recently partnered with Stewart and is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join the team. This person will provide expert-level technical design to manage and produce consistently high-quality design on a wide variety of bridge projects, both large- and small-scale, including the design of steel and concrete vehicular and pedestrian bridges.ResponsibilitiesPrepare the layout and design of conventional and complex bridge structuresPrepare and complete discipline engineering designs that are responsive to project needs, including the production of bridge design, shop drawing review, quantities, cost estimates, construction administration, and final specifications, ensuring that work is accurate and in accordance with good engineering codes and practicePlan and review the production of engineering drawings and specificationsConduct field observations and data collection activitiesOversee and prepare design details, plans, and drawings within specific task areasDevelop project design criteria, design calculations, construction details, quantities, and cost estimatesAnalyze technical problems, assessing the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devising new approaches and alternative solutionsMentor junior bridge designers and new graduate engineers, including training to use software, how to perform design tasks, and plan production.
