Position: Accounting & Administrative SpecialistLocation: DeForest, WICompany: Wisconsin Laborers' District CouncilFull-Time | Onsite | DeForest, WI | Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PMWe are seeking a highly motivated Accounting & Administrative Specialist to join a small office in DeForest, WI. This position plays a critical role in supporting union members, contractors, and internal operations.This hands-on role combines accounting, administrative support, and member services in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong communication and adaptability.The role offers a clear long-term growth path toward Office Manager responsibilities as part of a planned succession.What You'll Do Manage accounts payable/receivable, bank transactions, and related activity using QuickBooksAssist with payroll-related processes, including tax filings and wage rate calculations based on collective bargaining agreementsMaintain and update member records in a union tracking systemSupport daily communication with union members, families, and contractors via phone and emailTrack political spending and assist with campaign finance reporting (State Ethics Commission)Assist with affiliated fund contributions, scholarships, and charitable foundation paymentsProvide general office support, including vendor coordination, filing, and administrative organizationWhat We're Looking For High school diploma required; additional education in accounting or business preferred3+ years of administrative, accounting, or office support experienceStrong QuickBooks and bookkeeping experienceProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and comfort learning new systems (CRM or membership databases preferred)Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExperience in construction, union, or labor environments strongly preferredWork Environment Onsite role (no remote work)Small office team of 4 employeesFast-paced, collaborative environmentStandard hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday–FridayComp and Benefits:Starting salary for this role is $65,000+, depending on experience .Health, dental, and vision insurancePension plan(Provided through the Wisconsin Laborers' Health and Pension Plan)About UsThe Wisconsin Laborers' District Council (WLDC) represents over 10,000 construction craft laborers across Wisconsin and is part of the Laborers' International Union of North America (LIUNA).
