Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced IT Operations Manager to serve as a strategic consultant for the company. In this role, the IT Operations Manager will support business development efforts by contributing to bids, proposals, and growth strategies, offering insights on IT solutions to meet the needs of potential clients. The successful candidate will leverage their technical expertise to help expand our IT service offerings and ensure seamless integration of systems across multiple projects. This position also plays a key role in guiding the implementation of new IT technologies and infrastructure improvements. Essential Functions: Business Development Support: Collaborate with the business development team to support bids on new projects by providing detailed IT expertise. This includes identifying client needs, crafting strategic IT proposals, and presenting solutions that align with business growth objectives. Ensure proposed solutions are feasible within existing resources while setting the foundation for scalability. Consultancy: Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for both internal and external clients. Provide expert advice on IT infrastructure, policies, and systems to streamline processes, optimize productivity, and ensure IT operations align with business objectives. Engage in client meetings to assess requirements, troubleshoot challenges, and recommend enhancements to IT frameworks. Client Engagement: Proactively engage with current and prospective clients to understand their IT requirements and develop customized solutions to meet their unique needs. Use your IT background to consult with clients, analyze their operational challenges, and design IT systems that align with their long-term goals. Build strong client relationships by delivering innovative IT solutions that optimize efficiency and security, ensuring that customer satisfaction remains a priority. Ensuring Compliance: Ensure that all IT policies, procedures, and systems comply with industry standards, regulations, and security protocols. Stay up-to-date with evolving compliance requirements to proactively address any gaps in IT processes. Implement measures to safeguard data, privacy, and system integrity as the company continues to grow its IT footprint. Future Responsibilities (as the company grows): Operational Oversight Expansion: As the company expands, take on a broader leadership role by overseeing larger, more complex IT teams. Ensure smooth day-to-day operations across an expanded HelpDesk, Infrastructure, and Monitoring team, with additional focus on advanced automation and scaling IT services to support a larger workforce. Client Engagement at Scale: Engage with a growing number of clients across multiple sectors, managing IT solutions and services tailored to each client’s needs. Develop a streamlined process for delivering client updates, managing service-level agreements (SLAs), and ensuring client satisfaction as the customer base expands. IT Project Leadership: Lead and manage larger-scale IT system design and implementation projects. Work closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements, ensure alignment with business objectives, and oversee the full lifecycle of IT projects. Coordinate project deliverables across departments, ensuring that deadlines are met, budgets are adhered to, and high-quality IT systems are delivered to clients. Expanded Budget Management: Manage a significantly larger IT budget that includes multiple concurrent projects, hardware/software upgrades, and expanded personnel costs. Develop detailed budget forecasts for IT growth and ensure the efficient allocation of resources to match the company's expansion. Compliance and Risk Management Scaling: As the company scales, ensure that all IT operations remain compliant with increasingly complex regulatory environments. Develop an enhanced risk management framework to accommodate larger-scale operations and multi-site deployments, ensuring data protection and IT security protocols evolve alongside business growth. Performance Monitoring for a Larger Infrastructure: Oversee the development of advanced monitoring systems to track the performance of a much larger IT infrastructure, with a focus on reducing downtime, improving incident response times, and ensuring system reliability at scale. Experience and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. At least 20 years of experience in IT management, with a focus on IT operations, business development, and consulting. Certified Professional Scrum Master (PSM) required. Proven experience overseeing IT operations and supporting business development efforts through bids and proposals. Strong project management skills, with experience in leading IT system deployment and integration projects. Familiarity with IT compliance, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Superior interpersonal skills, capable of resolving complex project issues and motivating staff to peak performance. Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership, clients, and integration teams. Desired Qualifications: Experience in a defense or government contracting environment. Familiarity with IT security practices and risk management. Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or similar are preferred. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines. Travel: No travel is expected for this position.
