TPA Residential Desk Adjuster
Job DescriptionOverview:The Desk Adjuster will investigate, evaluate, reserve, negotiate and resolve assigned claims in accordance with client guidelines. The adjuster will provide timely, accurate, fair, and professional service to all clients and insured parties while maintaining a high level of production. Must have property claim handling experience.Key Responsibilities:Conducts thorough investigations, as outlined in the claim handling guidelines and best practicesDenies, settles, or authorizes payments to property claims based on coverage, field reports, and verifiable damageInterviews, telephones, or corresponds with insureds, claimants, vendors, carriers, witnesses, public adjusters, attorneys, etc. to gather important information to support the claims; including proofs of lossSets proper reservesTakes recorded statements as neededReviews and evaluates property claims for coverage and further claim handling procedures to conclude within required statutory time frameInterpret policy language and evaluate coverage issues of multiple different policies and endorsementsAddresses diaries, emails and voicemailsPrepares technical claim documents and correspondencePrepares report of findings of an investigationContributes to department efforts with an emphasis on team collaborationOther Duties as assignedQualifications:2-5 years of homeowner claims experienceGuidewire experience strongly preferredMust hold a valid claims adjusting licenseProficient in working all loss perilsCarrier experience strongly preferredProficient in Xactimate and XactanalysisProficient in reconciling supplementsExperience in negotiating settlementsStrong writing skills related to policy interpretation is a mustDecision making skills and the ability to work independentlyFamiliar with a variety of field concepts, practices and proceduresGood organization and time management skillsAnalytical and proactive claim handling skillsExcellent customer service skillsProficient oral and written communication is a mustProficient computer & typing skills - working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel and OutlookAbility to speak Spanish a plus
