General Ledger Accountant - Finance

Job Summary: SW North America’s General Ledger Accountant-Finance position has the primary responsibility to support the accounting and finance department in all aspects of financial management as they relate to the monthly/annual financial requirements for a German owned, mid-size manufacturing company, located in New Hudson, Michigan. The General Accountant- Finance performs a variety of duties, including but not limited to:Assist in preparation of Inter-co and financial reportingAssist with annual audit preparation and oversightSupport outside CPA with Federal, State & Property tax return preparationAll aspects of monthly close process and general ledger maintenanceMaintain monthly/annual Capital Asset accountingMaintain/improve internal controls and processesSupporting reporting of monthly variances for budget/actualSupporting annual budget and monthly forecasting processesUnderstanding of cashflow/treasury/banking functionsAll other duties as assignedTargeted Experience, Qualifications & Abilities 2-5 Years of progressive financial accounting experienceBachelor’s Degree or equivalent training and experienceThorough knowledge and understanding of accrual accountingExperience with monthly financial statement preparationExperience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close processExperience with monthly account reconciliationsExperience in review of corporate, payroll and property tax filingsExperience with various ERP/Accounting systems – SAP experience is preferredExcellent personal relation skills and communication skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks concurrently, prioritizing them appropriatelyHigh proficiency in Office 365, specifically Advanced Excel, data visualization, and collaboration tools like SharePoint.Good organizational skills and Detail-Oriented
