Electrical Control Technician

USPTM has an immediate opportunity for an Electrical Control Technician!A maintenance technician, with a focus on electrical control, will perform diverse responsibilities to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, Calibration & Preventative Maintenance processes, and to ensure equipment is maintained in a validated state. We believe in rewarding success, transparency, and open communications while developing our associates to enable them to build a career with USPTM.Install, troubleshoot, and start-up of process control and electrical systemsRepair electrical equipment, perform preventive and predictive maintenance, and complete projectsUtilize technical documentation (prints, manuals, specifications, etc.) to aid in troubleshootingAccurately keep maintenance records of critical and quality-related plant equipmentDetermine the root cause of failure and correct condition to prevent reoccurrenceAudit the maintenance program to include identifying and recommending opportunities for improvementRepair failure using current procedures and recommend alternative methods of repairDevelop, document, and perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to maximize equipment reliability. Generate out-of-tolerance reports, when required, for equipment found outside of acceptance criteria.Drive continuous improvement at the plant level. Understand and comply with all OSHA, NEC, state/provincial, and local codes. Participate in plant training and safety programs.Demonstrate safe work habits and proper care for tools and equipmentPerform other duties as requiredAbility to wire, troubleshoot and repair 3 Phase 480 Volts Alternating Current (VAC) systemsRequired Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalentMinimum of 1-3 years' experience in the understanding & repair of Programmable Logic ControlsDemonstrated experience in troubleshooting technical issues (Electrical & Mechanical)Required Skills/AbilitiesExperience with Programmable Logic Controls and Variable Frequency DrivesKnowledge in the installation, maintenance, and repairs of common mechanical systems found in an industrial manufacturing facility that require instrumentationAbility to read and understand labels, blueprints, schematics, job site maps/directions, instruction manuals and/or written instructions accuratelyWork EnvironmentManufacturing PlantPhysical DemandsThis job requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk on the production floor.Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position Monday through Friday; some overtime may be required.Reasonable Accommodations StatementTo accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily.
