Director of Business/Treasurerfor Kokomo School CorporationLength of Contract: 12.00 monthsSalary: Commensurate with training and experienceMajor Responsibilities:Serve as the Corporation Treasurer in accordance with Indiana law and State Board of Accounts requirements.Collaborate closely with the Superintendent to develop, implement, and monitor a fiscally responsible annual budget aligned with state requirements and district priorities.Provide ongoing financial guidance to the Superintendent on matters affecting the corporation's fiscal health and operations.Maintain current knowledge and required training related to Indiana Department of Education and State Board of Accounts regulations, reporting, and submission deadlines.Manage and submit all required Gateway financial reports and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all state reporting.Oversee preparation and submission of Form 9, the Annual Financial Report, and all other required local, state, and federal financial reports.Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, regulations, board policies, and procedures related to purchasing, bidding, and financial management.Oversee and maintain all financial systems and internal controls for corporation accounts.Maintain official financial records including contracts, securities, titles, and related documentation.Monitor and manage all investments, bonds, and debt obligations of the school corporation.Assist in the preparation of the monthly Board of School Trustees financial packet.Present financial reports, claims, and recommendations for Board approval.Participate in IASBO professional development, regional meetings, and state conferences.Assist in the development of long-range financial planning and budget projections.Support and participate in staff training and professional learning opportunities as appropriate.Participate in collective bargaining processes and provide financial analysis as needed.Supervise, support, and evaluate assigned business office personnel.Prepare requested financial documents and reports in an organized and timely manner.Exercise sound judgment and independent decision-making consistent with established policies and procedures.Respond promptly to financial inquiries and information requests from stakeholders.Use data analysis and strategic planning to support effective decision-making and problem solving.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field required, or Administrator License; Master's degree preferred.Experience in accounting, finance, budgeting, or operational management within a business, educational, or governmental setting preferred.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex financial information to diverse audiences.Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial and organizational data to identify strengths, address areas for improvement, and support strategic decision-making.Knowledge of current educational trends, research, and evidence-based practices impacting school finance and operations.Ability to accurately interpret regulations, policies, and financial data and effectively present information to students, parents, staff, administrators, community stakeholders, and the Board of School Trustees.Proven problem-solving skills, including the ability to define issues, gather and analyze relevant data, and develop actionable plans.Demonstrated leadership experience in supervision, program development, staff development, and team management.Interested candidates should apply online at https://kokomo.schoolspring.com/.
