Location: Good Samaritan University HospitalOur organization is actively seeking a Board-Certified Trauma Surgeon to join our Level 1 Trauma Center at Good Samaritan University Hospital located in West Islip, NY. This role will be primarily based at Good Samaritan Hospital (GSUH) in West Islip, NY, situated in Suffolk County.We are an integrated healthcare system dedicated to serving the communities of Long Island, New York. Our system includes six hospitals, three skilled nursing facilities, a regional Home Care and Hospice service, and a community-based agency for individuals with developmental disabilities. With over 17,000 employees and an operating budget exceeding $3 billion, we cater to more than three million residents across Suffolk, Nassau, and Eastern Queens Counties in New York.In recent years, GSUH has experienced a significant expansion, highlighted by the opening of a new 300,000 square-foot Patient Care Pavilion in 2025. This expansion features a state-of-the-art 78-bed adult emergency department, 16 operating rooms equipped with hybrid capabilities, and private medical-surgical patient rooms. These enhancements aim to address community healthcare needs, attract skilled physicians, and elevate the facility to a Level 1 Trauma Center.This is a remarkable opportunity to join a collaborative, patient-centered health system with a longstanding commitment to delivering exceptional care to the community.Clinical Services and Qualifications:Deliver high-quality, effective care in accordance with evidence-based trauma guidelines while ensuring outstanding service excellence for trauma patients. This position will report to the Chair of the Surgery Department, the Medical Director of Trauma, and the Chief Medical Officer.Completion of a Fellowship in Surgical Critical Care or Trauma SurgeryBoard Eligible/Certified in General SurgeryCertification in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)Oversee all facets of trauma care and collaborate with subspecialistsEngaging work environment that promotes a healthy work-life balanceParticipation in research publications is requiredSalary Range: $350,000 - $500,000This salary range is a good faith estimate; actual compensation will depend on various factors, including the candidate's education, training, skills, licensure, certification, competencies, and relevant experience.
