ISH Dining Services - NOW HIRING: Cook (Full-Time & Part-Time)ROLE OVERVIEWThe Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality meals that meet the nutritional needs of residents while maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards. Working under the direction of the Food Service Director or Assistant Director, this role helps ensure a smooth kitchen operation and a positive dining experience for residents, staff, and visitors.WHAT YOU'LL DOPrepare and cook meals in accordance with approved menus and recipesEnsure food is ready and served according to scheduled meal timesFollow portion control and dietary guidelines for all residentsAssist with meal plating and tray accuracy when neededDirect and support kitchen staff in the absence of department leadershipHelp manage food supplies and minimize wasteFOOD SAFETY & COMPLIANCEFollow all federal, state, and local food safety regulationsMaintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen environmentProperly store, label, and handle food itemsAdhere to infection control procedures and PPE requirementsEnsure special diets are prepared accurately as prescribedTEAM & COMMUNICATIONCommunicate effectively with the Food Service Director and team membersCollaborate with dietary staff to maintain efficient kitchen operationsSupport a respectful, team-oriented work environmentProvide excellent service to residents and their familiesADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIESParticipate in training, drills, and emergency preparedness activitiesAssist with resident evacuation in emergency situationsReport injuries, safety concerns, or policy violations immediatelyMaintain confidentiality of resident information (PHI)Comply with all facility policies and CMS guidelinesREQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or GED preferred (or relevant experience)Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidaysAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentMust be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in EnglishWORK SETTINGThis position is based in a healthcare kitchen environment and requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working in a fast-paced setting.WHY WORK WITH USSupportive and team-driven environmentOpportunities for growth within the dietary departmentFlexible Full-Time & Part-Time schedulingMake a meaningful impact on residents every day
