Position Vacancy AnnouncementFlorida A&M University's Department of Student Activities is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Coordinator, Student Affairs (Facilities Operations & Event Services) vacancy.ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will be responsible for executing assigned duties with efficiency, accuracy, and professionalism while maintaining high standards of quality. This hands-on role requires active participation in daily operations, including supporting a wide range of tasks in a physically demanding environment.Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all safety procedures and company policies, and collaborating effectively with team members and supervisors; Encompass leadership and operational responsibilities, including supervising and training staff; Contributing to policy development and implementation; Evaluating processes to improve organizational effectiveness; and supporting financial planning and resource allocation.The candidate is expected to communicate clearly and professionally, build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and uphold strict confidentiality while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and institutional policies; Utilize technical systems and equipment, coordinate multiple projects with strong attention to detail, and demonstrate sound judgment, problem-solving ability, and professionalism under pressure; and the position requires a commitment to high work standards, continuous professional development, and the ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 30 pounds and standing or moving for extended periods.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of related experience; or a master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization.Recommended CompetenciesDemonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop both senior-level and frontline staff while fostering a positive, high-performance work culture;Skilled in designing, implementing, and evaluating strategic policies, procedures, and organizational objectives;Adept at assessing organizational effectiveness, identifying gaps, and implementing innovative process improvements;Experienced in preparing financial forecasts, analyzing budgetary needs, generating detailed reports, and managing resources strategically;Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations and convey complex information clearly to various audiences;Proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with students, faculty, staff, community partners, and external stakeholders;Effective working independently or as part of a team, contributing to a cooperative and solutions focused environment;Proficient in interpreting and applying federal, state, and local regulations, as well as institutional policies and ethical standards;Trusted to manage sensitive information, respond appropriately during crises, and uphold strict confidentiality and integrity;Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with university specific software and operational systems;Competent in operating audiovisual equipment, lighting controls, and other technologies essential to daily facility operations;Ability to safely lift and transport items weighing at least 30 lbs;Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with sound judgment and the capacity to work independently under pressure;Highly organized, detail oriented, and capable of managing multiple complex tasks and deadlines simultaneously; and,Consistent commitment to quality work, reliability, and ongoing professional growth.Pay PlanThis is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.Conditions of EmploymentSuccessful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education.
