About the CompanyAs a Tax Manager at Chortek, you’ll play a key leadership role—mentoring team members, strengthening client relationships, and guiding strategic tax planning. This is a customer facing position; the expectation will be to travel to the home office once a month or very least quarterly to meet with the team and clients. (If you are located in the surrounding Milwaukee area, this position will be hybrid.)About the RoleSupervise, mentor, and develop tax staff. Review staff-prepared tax returns for accuracy and compliance. Prepare, review, and sign a variety of tax returns.ResponsibilitiesSupervise, mentor, and develop tax staffReview staff-prepared tax returns for accuracy and compliancePrepare, review, and sign a variety of tax returns, including:Partnerships, S‑Corporations, and C‑Corporations (including multi‑state filings)Individual and Trust tax returnsManage client billing and support invoice processesBuild and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisorConduct tax research, projections, and correspondence with tax authoritiesLead business development initiatives and community engagementManage projects and client portfolios at a strategic level QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldStrong understanding of Basic Accounting PrinciplesActive CPA license requiredAbility to manage seasonal workloadsWillingness to travel as needed for client engagements and professional growthExperience with ProSystem fx Tax and Fixed Assets software (preferred) Required Skills2+ years of relevant tax manager experienceStrong project management and organizational skillsProven success in client relationship management and business developmentStrategic mindset with a passion for solving complex tax challenges Preferred SkillsExperience with ProSystem fx Tax and Fixed Assets software (preferred)Pay range and compensation package401(k) plan with firm contribution.
