Litigation Paralegal

Our client, a well-established law firm, is seeking an experienced Professional Negligence/Medical Malpractice Paralegal to join their Professional Negligence and Product Liability Defense group in Charlotte, North Carolina. 📋 About the RoleThis paralegal will play a critical role in supporting complex medical malpractice and professional negligence defense matters — from initial filing through trial and appeal. ✅ Key Responsibilities• Organize, index, and summarize extensive medical records and billing documentation for complex malpractice cases• Assist attorneys with full-cycle case management from initial filing through trial and appeal• Draft client correspondence and assist with pleadings and discovery documents• Compile and prepare documents for production• Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial dates with clients, witnesses, experts, outside counsel, and court personnel• Provide comprehensive trial support, including electronic presentations, witness coordination, and exhibit management• Conduct investigative research and gather information from a variety of sources• Assist with retaining and preparing materials for expert witnesses throughout the lifecycle of a case• Handle electronic filings in State and Federal Court• Support attorneys with medical board matters, subpoena responses, and other legal matters🎓 Requirements• Minimum 3 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or medical malpractice within a law firm setting• Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required• Paralegal certificate preferred• Nursing or medical background preferred• Trial experience preferred• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with iManage a plus• Prior experience with a legal time and billing system• Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment• Detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to work both independently and as part of a team📍 Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Fully In-Office to start and then Hybrid)If you are a skilled litigation paralegal with a passion for complex defense work and are ready to bring your expertise to a dynamic team, we encourage you to apply!
