Material Handler

Material HandlerThe material handler works in the warehouse coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to production schedule. This position also prepares items for shipment and may receive incoming merchandise or material for the preparation of shipment. The material handler will load and unload delivery trucks, pull materials from shelves, and move items from warehouse to production. They will ensure production areas are fully stocked and have the materials they need to meet production schedules and fulfill orders to move quickly.In this role, you will:Resolve any material needs, solving material problems and inventory control issues as they ariseUpdate computer generated inventories and documentsFollow inspection proceduresAdhere to procedures required for stores/materials documents and shipping and receiving documentsPerform warehouse control, inventory control and related dutiesCommunicate with various departments to ensure the proper flow of work and materialsLoad and unload shelves using forklifts and other moving equipmentOrganize and clean warehousePerform other duties as assignedRequired and preferred experience:2-3 years' experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory controlOperating a forklift and pallet jackWorking knowledge and understanding of computersPass crane training & forklift trainingWork Environment and Physical Requirements:Occasionally exposed to fumes associated with cleaning products dust and warehouse conditionsRegularly required to talk and hearVery active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all dayFrequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds (SEF Energy employees shall not manually lift an item weighing more than 50 lbs., they shall utilize mechanical assistance devices.
