OverviewStone Garden Group (SGG) is a newly established single-family office, headquartered in Houston, Texas. SGG’s mission is superior alpha generation, leveraging a dual competitive advantage of a wide mandate and a long-term investment horizon of a young principal. Stone Garden is founded on the integration of advanced analytics and AI driven automation of data collection and management, research workflows, investment underwriting, thematic development, and risk management. The team is comprised of professionals from leadership roles in private markets, hedge funds, commodity trading, and operational management across institutional asset management and global energy firms. SGG is seeking a Director of Analytics/Research to report directly to the CIO. This is a senior leadership position, tasked with spearheading the firm’s data analytics, risk management, and investment monitoring functions. SGG has a strong focus on private market investing, with an initial emphasis on applying a data focused approach to fund investments, co-investments, GP Stakes, and secondary investments. SGG will also maintain the flexibility to pursue opportunistic direct and public market investments as opportunities arise.ResponsibilitiesManage thematic research on macroeconomic, geopolitical, and sectoral trendsDevelop and manage risk frameworks and stress-testing processesBuild dashboards for portfolio monitoring and performance attributionDirect data collection and ensure consistency of research inputsPartner with investment team to integrate thematic insights into deal evaluationPresent findings to the CIO and Investment CommitteeThis position offers the opportunity to sit at the center of the investment process, taking on substantive responsibilities that directly inform decision-making at the family office.QualificationsWe seek individuals who thrive in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment and demonstrate excellence, judgment, and intellectual curiosity.
