Job Title: Industrial Engineer (Warehouse operations required not manufacturing)NO C2C/C2H and NO VISA sponsorshipLocation: Remote with 50% travel involved (Tuesday - Thursday)Preferred – Greater Chicago, IL; Greater Atlanta, GA; Greater Dallas, TX. Otherwise, proximity to a major airport is ideal.We’re looking for someone to lead projects that improve warehouse equipment and operations across multiple locations. You’ll make decisions on forklifts, battery systems, and other material handling equipment, drive cost savings, and work closely with operations and vendors. From inception to post-project analysis and lessons learned. As an Engineering Project Manager, you will be a subject matter expert in mobile and material handling equipment, including forklifts, batteries, chargers, and emerging technologies. You will develop network-wide strategies focused on lowest cost of ownership and energy efficiency. You are a multi-site engineering leader who owns material handling equipment strategy—focused on cost reduction, energy efficiency, and large-scale forklift/warehouse equipment projects.Required:BS degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering required (no technology degree)5-7 years, 3 years minimum of experience in multi-facility distribution operations - Multi-site distribution or manufacturing experience. Not just single plantStrong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross-disciplinary teamsHigh analytical ability; skilled in data analysis and clear communication (written and verbal)Ability to create, view, and interpret CAD drawings.Forklift / material handling equipment ownershipCapEx projects (equipment replacement, upgrades)Vendor/OEM coordinationData-driven decisions (maintenance, usage, cost)Preferred:Experience with various types of material handling equipment and storage/retrieval systemsFamiliarity with SAP for project managementBackground in warehouse data analytics and telemetry systemsWhat You will DoResearch, recommend, and specify material handling solutions for various applications across manufacturing and warehousing logistics.Develop and execute replacement strategies, budgets, project plans, and timelinesStay current on mobile equipment trends, battery technologies (Lithium, Fast Charge, Opportunity Charge, etc.), and energy consumption strategiesLead initiatives such as propane-to-electric lift conversions, electric yard spotters, and green energy credit programsImplement telemetry systems to optimize mobile equipment usage and performanceAnalyze maintenance and repair trends with vendors and operations leaders to identify cost-saving solutionsCreate business cases and capital acquisition requests for equipment purchases or leasesManage projects and assets using SAPCollaborate with Procurement on equipment purchasing, scheduling, and setupServe as a liaison between Manufacturing, Distribution Operations, Engineering, IT, and external solution providersRecommend new warehouse/distribution center technologies based on operational needsCommunicate effectively with Engineering and Operations leadershipProvide technical troubleshooting and ongoing supportOffer insights into processes affecting direct and indirect operating costsUphold and promote customer’s corporate safety standards
