Role Description This is a part-time, on-site role for a Surgical Coordinator located in the Washington DC-Baltimore area. The Surgical Coordinator will oversee and manage all aspects of surgery scheduling, including coordinating with patients, surgeons, and facilities to ensure efficient operations. Other responsibilities include verifying insurance coverage, educating patients on pre- and post-operative steps, and ensuring clear communication to provide a seamless experience. Exceptional customer service will be key in interacting with patients and addressing their needs. Qualifications Proficiency in Surgery Scheduling and understanding of Medical Terminology.Experience with Insurance Verification processes.Strong skills in Customer Service and Communication with a focus on empathy and clarity.Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively in a clinical setting.Familiarity with electronic medical record systems is a plus.Previous experience in a medical or surgical office setting is highly desirable.Bachelor’s degree required; additional medical or healthcare-related certifications are advantageous.
