This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing rental boats and related equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and high-quality experiences for our customers.Essential Functions & DutiesPerform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on rental boatsDiagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issuesMaintain outboard and inboard enginesInspect and service batteries, bilge pumps, steering systems, and safety equipmentComplete minor fiberglass, upholstery, and cosmetic repairs as neededPrepare boats for daily rental operations (fueling, fluid checks, safety checks)Maintain maintenance logs and service recordsRespond promptly to on-the-water service calls when necessaryEnsure compliance with marina safety standards and manufacturer guidelinesAssist dock staff when operational support is neededPossess the ability to react productively to other duties as reasonably assignedQualificationsQualifications(i.e. credentials, certifications)Previous marine mechanic or small engine repair experience preferred; Knowledge of boat systems (electrical, fuel, cooling, steering); Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues efficiently; Basic understanding of marine safety regulations; Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor conditions; Valid driver's license required; Marine technician certification (preferred but not required)EducationHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred but not required. Certification of applicable skills/training preferred.ExperiencePrevious maintenance/electrical/plumbing/construction experience preferred. Boating experience preferred.General Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of APM marina services and amenities.Skills which allow for the tactful resolution of guest problems or concerns.Knowledge or ability to be trained in fire extinguisher operation.Knowledge or ability to be trained in ISO/EMS awareness.Knowledge or ability to be trained in employee orientation.Knowledge or ability to be trained in hazard communication.Knowledge or ability to be trained in hazardous materials response/respiratory protection.Knowledge or ability to be trained in emergency response.Knowledge or ability to be trained in recyclable materials.Knowledge or ability to be trained in blood borne pathogen awareness.Knowledge or ability to be trained in machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, maintenance and proper safety.Is This Position Closely, Moderately, or Minimally Supervised?
